Elsenham Parish Council considers legal action against Uttlesford District Council over the Section 106 monies for new community centre
Proposals for the development to the north of Taylors Farm in The Street have met with opposition from residents and environmental groups.
The site, off Hall Road and Church Lane, features woodlands and a lake, and was once part of the grade II listed Elsenham Hall estate.
The 70-room, three-storey hotel in Thaxted Road is proposing a four-storey annexe and conversion of its restaurant as well as car park alterations.
Bosses at Felsted School say “very little note has been taken of very real concerns raised” about the Budget measure.
Councillors were told the care homes were “highly expensive” and “not very efficient”.
The old Saffron Hotel in Saffron Walden High Street ran for over 80 years but shut down two years ago after battling numerous issues.
The school is moving from its current site in Parsonage Downs, which will be redeveloped for housing, to a new home off Stortford Road.
