Sally Murray of Halo Blossom Floral Design in Bishop’s Stortford wins two industry awards
A Bishop’s Stortford-based floral designer is celebrating after picking up two prestigious awards.
Sally Murray, who runs Halo Blossom Floral Design, has been named Florist of the Year for the East of England in the Wedding Industry Awards and is through to the national finals.
She also landed the Wedding Florist of the Year title at the Herts & Beds Wedding Awards.
Murray, who started her business 17 years ago, achieved success in the Wedding Industry Awards after securing votes from couples she has worked with over the last 12 months before impressing a judging panel.
For the Herts & Beds prize, she had to create a design of her choice and submit it to a panel of industry judges as well as answering a series of questions.
“To win one of these awards was such an honour, but to win both was amazing,” said Murray. “It’s made all the more special knowing my couples voted for me.
“I was so convinced I wouldn’t win, I wore the same dress for both awards ceremonies!”
Murray has lived in Stortford for about 20 years having grown up in Chelmsford and also lived in London. She has a daughter at Herts and Essex High School and a son who attends The Bishop’s Stortford High School.
