Former Herts and Essex High School students Sarah Tann and Victoria Kemp open ladies-only gym Stronger Together Gym in Stansted, Essex
Two former Herts and Essex High School students who have been friends for 25 years want to help women be happy, healthy and strong at their new ladies-only gym.
Sarah Tann and Victoria Kemp opened Stronger Together Gym in Stansted in February and are focusing on enhancing women's physical, mental and emotional wellbeing in a fun and supportive environment at their, light, airy and spacious premises.
Offering small group classes, the pre- and post-natal specialists were inspired to launch their own business after being frustrated by the lack of knowledge and support they experienced post children on their return-to-exercise journeys.
Tann, 37, is mum to three boys and lives in Takeley. She got a PE and sports science degree at the University of Chester and is currently director of sport at a local prep school as well as having strong family links to Bishop's Stortford rugby club.
Kemp, 38, has two girls and lives in Stansted. She has a business and fashion management degree from Loughborough University and was previously a fashion buyer and crossfit coach. She plays netball in a Bishop's Stortford league.
"We wanted to create an environment to help empower and educate women to support their journey back into exercise," said the friends, who met at Herts and Essex in Stortford when they were 12.
"We recognise the importance of balancing not just the physical benefits of exercise, but also the emotional and mental ones too."
Stronger Together Gym is at Unit 1, Hornbeam Way, Walpole Meadows, Stansted CM24 8XZ. Find out more on Facebook and Instagram @stronger_together_gym.
