Steve Cutting new project manager for Bellway at the Goodsyard development in Bishop's Stortford
An award-winning project manager has taken charge of building Bellway's new homes at the Goodsyard development in Bishop's Stortford.
Steve Cutting, 41, is responsible for delivering the 149 properties at The Exchange having previously worked at Bellway North London's Hertsmere Mews development in Borehamwood.
The Exchange at Goodsyard is the first phase of homes to be delivered as part of the wider regeneration of the town centre site, which will bring more than 500 new homes to the area, as well as a care home, hotel, commercial and office spaces and two multi-storey car parks.
"The Goodsyard development is a very prestigious project and I am excited about ensuring we deliver the top-quality homes that Bellway is known for," said Cutting, who was awarded the National House Building Council's Seal of Excellence last year for his work at Hertsmere Mews and has won eight other accolades in his career.
"In essence, my job as project manager is to liaise with everyone, whether they be subcontractors or architects, to ensure that all is well on the site. I like the site I run to be clean, tidy and, most importantly, safe for the team.
"I have been honoured to have my work recognised and to win a number of awards.
"There is no single approach to being a good project manager. What you need to do is surround yourself with a good team and treat them as you would want to be treated. Over the years I have been able to do that."
Rob Sapsford, construction director of Bellway North London, said: "The development at Goodsyard is one of this division's key sites and so we have ensured it has been staffed with a key, local construction team.
"Steve has repeatedly proven that he can create and lead a winning team and consistently deliver quality new homes for Bellway North London. We are delighted to have Steve at the helm at Goodsyard to ensure we stay on target and deliver these much-needed homes to the area."
