Natural burial ground Old Park Meadow in Essex wins award from The Natural Death Centre Charity and Association of Natural Burial Grounds
A natural burial ground between Great Dunmow and Chelmsford has won an award after families it has supported left glowing feedback.
Old Park Meadow, which is situated at North End on the B1008 Dunmow Road, has earned The People's Award for the East of England from the The Natural Death Centre Charity and Association of Natural Burial Grounds (ANBG).
The accolade highlights the level of service provided by the dedicated team as well as the personal approach and support provided to families or friends whose loved ones have been buried or had their ashes interred at the venue.
"This award recognises the commitment from staff to provide a caring and supportive environment to all our families," said Old Park Meadow manager Delyse Jackaman. "We are immensely proud and would like to thank everyone for their support."
The centre has been working closely with the Essex Wildlife Trust to sculpt the flower meadow's bluebell wood, which create beautiful spaces for burials and ash interments as well as ensuring a safe space for nature.
"The landscape changes with each season and this brings visits from a variety of birds and insects," added Delyse.
"Our meadows have been humming with the different sounds of the insects, butterflies, dragonflies, bees and many different birds."
