Groove is in the cup thanks to an artisan coffee company naming a limited-edition flavour after Uncle Funk's Disco Inferno.

The Bishop's Stortford-based band have been honoured by Funky Flamingo Coffee Co, which names items in its range after famous disco hits and iconography.

The Uncle Funk beans originate from India and Brazil, providing a medium/dark roast with cocoa, hazelnut and dried fruit flavour notes.

Frontman and founder Simon Baker was initially contacted by the company to ask whether he would promote the brand. It was so impressed with the resulting social media posts that it decided to call the new flavour after the band as well.

The band recently unveiled a brand new look and show after 25 years in the business, with their trademark afros being ditched in favour of outfits featuring fiery colours, disco flares and a lot of feathers, although Baker's codpiece remains an important part of his look.

The new nine-piece line-up features award-winning singers, musicians, acrobats and circus performers. Their busy summer schedule includes shows at the three Rewind Festivals in Henley, Macclesfield and Perth as well as the headline slot on the opening night of Standon Calling on July 22.

"I'm very flattered to be part of Funky Flamingo's range. Their coffee is excellent and they've picked some great titles to go with their brand," said Uncle Funk.

"Our flavour is a dark Indian and Brazilian blend, which rather suits our new band. I love it!"
