Video production company HNE Media among winners at Uttlesford Business Awards





A video production company based in Takeley was among the winners at the Uttlesford Business Awards.

HNE Media, a supporter of the Indies community awards, picked up the Marketing Champion prize at a celebration and networking event at Saffron Hall.

The company, which is run by founder and director James Garrett from its base at The Old Farmhouse in Stansted Courtyard, was also a finalist in the Innovation and Customer Focus category.

The overall Uttlesford Business of the Year champion was Capture House, a Great Dunmow-based commercial visual content agency.

There were accolades for Saffron Walden firms Enterprise East Group (Community Impact), Vault Aperitivo (Sustainability Award), Waffle and Co (Taste of Uttlesford), Dead Time (Retailer of the Year) as well as Sally Roper from West End Experience, Saffron Walden (Uttlesford Rising Star).

Down Hall Hotel and Spa, in Hatfield Heath, was named Hospitality Business of the Year, Ivy Cottage Bees, of Bamber’s Green, claimed the Made in Uttlesford title and Great Dunmow’s Lily Rose Permanent Cosmetics took the Health, Beauty and Wellbeing award.

The Innovation and Customer Focus prize was won by Knight Farming Ltd, of Great Canfield, Felsted-based A2B Contract Cars was named Service Business of the Year and Audley End Miniature Railway was Tourism Business of the Year.

Alongside their trophy, the winners were presented with a prize bag and a bottle of wine, donated by Saffron Grange, and they will also receive a one-to-one business consultation with an industry expert.

The awards, run by Uttlesford District Council to recognise innovation and excellence within the district, were sponsored by Stansted Airport, Colbea, Backing Essex Business, the Federation of Small Businesses, the North Essex Economic Board and Ambitious Essex.
