Tees Law has appointed two new partners with extensive experience in all aspects of private client work to its senior ranks.

Nicola Havers and Sarah Walker, who are both based at the legal and wealth management firm's head office in London Road, Bishop's Stortford, have been senior associates and joint head of the private client department since 2018.

Havers joined Tees in 2010 after training at City US law firm Jones Day and specialising in commercial property law for four years. After moving into private client work, she was made an associate in 2015 and senior associate in 2018, at which time she was invited to jointly head up the department.

She acts as a trustee of numerous family trusts, building long-standing personal relationships with many of Tees' key clients.

Walker qualified from Ashtons in 2009 and has since built extensive experience in all areas of private client work, joining Tees as an associate in 2015 before becoming a senior associate and joint head of department three years later.

Alongside this expertise, she is a specialist in Anglo-French matters, assisting clients in preparing French wills, advising on French estate and inheritance tax planning and dealing with estates including French assets.

"I'm delighted to see Nicola and Sarah join the Tees partnership," said senior partner Catherine Mowat. "In their time as joint heads of the private client department they have led by example in providing exceptional service to clients, as well as managing the growth and efficiency of the department.

"Every partner brings their own personal strengths and qualities to the team and contributes to driving the business forward. Tees is proud to support people in their progression to senior roles and remains fiercely committed to equality for its entire staff.

"Nicola and Sarah thoroughly deserve their new positions and I look forward to seeing everything they achieve in the years ahead."
