Treatment of musculoskeletal pain and injury, paediatric conditions, sports injuries, women's health and regular day-to-day injuries at Charles Carter Clinics in Bishop's Stortford
Making people happier, stronger, fitter and in less pain within a modern, relaxed environment is the goal of a new physiotherapy clinic in Bishop's Stortford.
Charles Carter Clinics, based at 19b North Street in Sworders Yard, was opened in November by founder and clinical director Charles Carter Holt.
The 34-year-old chartered physiotherapist wanted to create a healthcare environment that people want to go to, not have to go to, by combining a homely, spa-type feeling with the very best in modern assessment and treatment technology, including its own gym that's free for clients to use throughout their treatment.
And the listed building with high ceilings provides the perfect, non-clinical space for Charles and his expert team, all of whom specialise in different areas, to provide an excellent service in the prevention and treatment of all musculoskeletal pain and injury, paediatric conditions, sports injuries, women's health and regular day-to-day injuries.
The smart premises are even adorned with flowers from fellow North Street business Stock Florist along with paintings by Stortford artist Ray Whyard.
"Charles Carter Clinics is more than a physiotherapy clinic," said Charles. "It's a place in the heart of the community where you can improve your overall health, take part in local events, meet like-minded people and enjoy the process of getting fit again.
"We do this by providing a high level of care which we refuse to compromise on. With us, you're the most important person in the room and my friendly staff and I will do all we can to make you feel that way."
Charles has family in Stortford and, having opened other clinics in Essex, was always keen to create an all-in-one healthcare space in the town.
The family man has two daughters - Mia, five, and one-year-old Alice - and his fiancee Vicki is expecting their first son in April. He also finds time for triathlon training and is hoping to qualify for the Ironman world championships this year in his age category.
Charles, who trained at the University of East London, was working with first-team and youth footballers at Southend United when he got the idea for creating the perfect environment for people from all walks of life to get the best rehab.
He wanted to change people's mindsets and combine technology that is available to elite-level athletes - his Stortford clinic features strength and movement testing equipment that is a staple of Premier League football clubs - with the latest scientifically-based treatments.
"With a dedicated and friendly approach, alongside a drive to achieve excellence, we provide the most effective physical and mental support we can to you, empathetically and in a comfortable environment," said Charles, who also offers a bike fitting service.
"We provide people with the opportunity to come back stronger."
