A vehicle paint repair company franchisee from Bishop's Stortford has won national recognition from his peers for the sterling work he does to support colleagues.

Ben Allen, of Revive! Bishop's Stortford, was named Players' Player of the Year at the annual Revive! Franchisee & Technician of the Year Awards.

He scooped the prize after his fellow franchisees recognised the efforts he had gone to during the pandemic to mentor people within the network.

"We have all needed a bit more support than normal during the last 12 months, so I am extremely proud that the mentoring work that I do, and an aspect of my job that I love, has been recognised in this way," said Ben, 47, who lives in Ware with wife Claire and has three children – George, 20, Sophie, 18, and Edward, 10.

Ben, who went to school in Potters Bar, worked at Tesco HQ as a buying manager for 20 years before being made redundant and realising his life-long ambition of being his own boss.

He is currently so busy that he is looking to recruit two spray paint technicians.
