Revealed: Top 10 most expensive and cheapest residential addresses in Bishop’s Stortford

The most – and least – expensive streets in Bishop’s Stortford have been revealed by a property sales company, with the top three addresses having homes that sold for more than £1.5 million.

The data, produced by Property Solvers, was obtained by tracking average sold price data from HM Land Registry since 2019 to see where the highest and lowest-priced homes were in the Bishop’s Stortford CM23 post codes.

Madigan Place, Avenue Road and Thorn Grove, all off London Road, had the three highest valued properties. In Madigan Place, three properties sold for an average of £1,796,666, in Avenue Road four went for an average of £1,721,250 and Thorn Grove saw four sell for an average of £1,556,500.

The rest of the top ten consists of: The Pastures – £1,352,000; Maze Green Road – £1,332,500; Westwood Place – £1,266,250; Chantry Road – £1,256,666; Maze Green Heights – £1,189,166; Westfield Road – £1,155,500; Brooke Gardens – £1,092,500.

Top of the list of least expensive properties was Holland Court, Allerthorp Road on the St Michael’s Hurst estate, with six properties sold for an average of £118,333.

Second was Castle View, off Hockerill Street, with 13 properties sold for an average of £120,961 and third Swan Court, off South Street, with three properties sold for an average of £123,833.

Property Solvers co-founder Ruban Selvanayagam said: “To keep the data less skewed, we only ranked the streets that had [at least] three sales.”

He added: “It’s therefore worth noting that, in recent years, a property on Hadham Road sold for £3,200,000 and, at the other end of the market, there were properties that sold for £92,000 and under at Castle View (two) and Higgs Court.”
