Vice-principal Becky Jones said: "We're thrilled with our A-Level results this year, improving on last year's tremendous efforts. This reflects all the hard work that students and staff have put in.

"Students on the new vocational courses, that now include exams, have also performed really well. These great results allow our students to progress directly to university or to take up apprenticeships as the route to combine their studies with employment.

"The core subjects of English and maths have seen a rise in the number of students gaining A* to B grades, and our strong science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) provision enables many students to progress into employment and higher study in health, engineering and science areas, supporting the growth of these employment opportunities in the region."

Harlow MP Robert Halfon said: "I want to say a huge congratulations to all of the A-Level students at Harlow College. Once again, they have excelled themselves and should be proud of their outstanding achievements, with a 99% pass rate for the second year running.

"These fantastic results couldn't have been achieved without the dedication and hard work of the teachers and support staff, as well as the principal, governors and parents, all of whom are helping Harlow's young people to climb the education ladder of opportunity."

Tracy Greenall, the college's head of sixth form, said: "Another excellent year of results reinforces our belief that having learners at the heart of the decisions made and creating personalised programmes for individuals, where necessary, culminates in great outcomes.

"I am exceptionally proud both of the A-Level staff, for their dedication in providing a high-quality learning experience, as well as the learners for their determination and focus in achieving their goals. This is reflected in the diverse range of amazing progression pathways chosen by the A-Level learners."
