Uttlesford District Council elections: A guide to where the 70 polling stations are

A list of 70 polling stations where people can vote for their Uttlesford District Council candidates has been published.

The north-west Essex authority will be electing all 39 of its members on Thursday May 4, for the first time since 2019.

The council is currently controlled by the Residents for Uttlesford (R4U) group, which has a majority of seven. As it stands, there are 23 R4U councillors against six Conservatives, five Liberal Democrats, three Green Party and two Independents.

The 70 polling stations across the 22 UDC wards will be open from 7am to 10pm on election day.

The most common way to vote is to go to your local polling station on the day. These are usually in community buildings such as village halls, church halls, schools and sports clubs.

But voters in Bush End, Takeley, Wicken Bonhunt and Great Sampford will be able to cast their votes in church, in Molehill Green a marquee at the Three Horseshoes pub will host a polling station while in Saffron Walden's Castle ward residents have the option of a mobile unit in the Homebase car park.

If you’re registered to vote, you will receive a polling card before the election which tells you which polling station you should go to.
