A-level results: Herts & Essex High School's 'record-breaking' cohort
Herts & Essex High School A-level students have once again kept the school motto close to their hearts and 'reached for the stars', achieving a record-breaking set of results.
Although there are no details, a school statement mentioned a “significant” proportion of the 2017-18 Year 13 students achieving the top A* to B grades and an “exceptional” number of A* grades.
The Warwick Road secondary is also celebrating the fact that “so many” of its students have achieved at least three A-levels at A* or A and that a “large majority” will now be heading for their university or other destination of choice.
Headteacher Cathy Tooze said: “I am delighted with this fantastic set of results; we are incredibly proud of our students, who have worked tremendously hard.
“The results illustrate the dedication, energy and commitment of students and staff over the last two years.
“The combination of outstanding teaching and learning, superb pastoral support and an extensive extra-curricular programme means that Herts & Essex students leave us as well-rounded young people who have the ability to aim high, embrace new opportunities and with the knowledge that they can achieve so much.”
Caroline Lewis, the school’s acting director of sixth form, said: “I have really enjoyed working with this cohort of sixth formers and am thrilled by today’s results.
“Congratulations and thanks go to both the students and the staff for all their hard work, which is the basis of such achievements.
“This year’s Year 13 cohort has secured some fantastic destinations, including many of the best universities in the world, as well as apprenticeships at Harrods, Arcadia and PWC. This range and diversity is impressive.
