A-level results: St Mary's announces record results

Following a record-breaking set of A-level results last summer, St Mary's Catholic School's 2017-18 Year 13 cohort has done even better.

The Windhill secondary has reported increases in students’ average point scores and the proportion of A*-B grades.

Among the star students were:

Kamil Bobrowski – 2 A*s, 2 As

Sam Cunningham – 2 A*s, 1 A

Sean McGeady – 1 A*, 3 As

Stephen Walsh and Alessandro Augello – 3 As

Alessio Messina and Celia Pope – 2 A*s, 1 B

Sofia Cuffaro – 1 A*, 2 As

Reece Gow and Lara Mattaliano – 1 A*, 1 A, 1 B

Serena Ittoo – 1 A*, 2 Bs.

Headteacher Andrew Celano said: “I’m absolutely thrilled for the students and very proud of them all.

“Today marks an acknowledgement of their exceptional academic successes, and this now sits alongside their exceptional contributions to the wider school life and the community.

“The students were a pleasure to work with, and I would like to thank their talented teachers and also the commitment and steadfast support of all our parents, parishes and the wider community.”

Victoria Workman, the school’s director of sixth form, said: “I’m really thrilled with this year’s results and so proud of the academic achievements of all our Year 13s. They’ve been supported by an amazingly committed staff.”
