A120 Bishop’s Stortford bypass shut by two-car collision




The Bishop’s Stortford bypass was closed for almost two hours on Friday afternoon (August 2) as a result of a crash.

Police were called at around 12.25pm following reports of a two-vehicle collision on the stretch between the Tesco and Homebase roundabouts at the Hadham Road and Stansted Road junctions.

A white Suzuki and a grey Mini Cooper were involved and the road was closed while emergency services attended.

A spokesman for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: “No injuries were reported and the carriageway was cleared by 2.05pm.”

Bypass traffic diverted off the A120 clogged up Hadham Road and Rye Street.

Police were also called around 3pm following reports of a blue Ford Fiesta being involved in a single-vehicle collision on the London Road mini-roundabout at the red bridge.

The spokesman added: “No injuries were reported and no other vehicles were involved. The vehicle was recovered by 4.22pm.”
