Bishop's Stortford schoolgirl shares memories of Queen Elizabeth II
A Bishop's Stortford schoolgirl has shared her treasured memories of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Aditi Kumar, an eight-year-old pupil at Northgate primary, wrote to the monarch several times and received replies which are now precious possessions.
She lives in Stane Close in Stortford with her dad Sanjay Prosenjit Kumar, a community chef, and mum Shilpa Jain.
Sanjay said: "Be it the most recent, Platinum Jubilee to the illness and passing of Prince Philip, her husband, to Christmas greetings, Aditi has been corresponding with Queen Elizabeth and receiving letters of acknowledgement.
"Her Majesty the Queen was a guiding light to all of us in the family – beginning right from our Indian roots where we collected postage stamps with her insignia on it – to the coronavirus pandemic, where her reassuring voice helped us and millions through uncertain times of loss and change.
"She will always be in our thoughts and prayers, and we will look up to her life and resilience in the darkest and brightest days of our lives."
