Supporters of Essex & Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT) have risen to the challenge of supporting the charity with a series of fundraisers this summer.

More than 90 groups and individuals across both counties responded to a call to hold a very British afternoon tea to raise funds, collecting £16,000 in the process.

Even members of the air ambulance crew got involved, with suggestions of favourite recipes for fundraisers to use.

From sweet treats to savoury nibbles, from indoor tea parties to outdoor picnics, supporters enjoyed this very British tradition in return for a small donation to the air ambulance.

Natasha Robertson, Hertfordshire fundraising manager for EHAAT, said: “The sun has shone this summer, and so have our wonderful supporters.

“This has been a great way to get together with friends and family and indulge in some treats while raising money for the air ambulance.

“It costs more than £500,000 a month to keep the service running smoothly and we couldn’t do it without the dedication and support of the people of Essex and Hertfordshire.”
