Air ambulance tends to young cyclist who suffered serious injuries in collision with car at Wendens Ambo
An air ambulance was called to a road collision at Wendens Ambo in Tuesday's morning rush hour (Oct 6) in which a young cyclist suffered serious injuries.
Essex Police closed a stretch of the B1383 near the Fighting Cocks pub and close to Audley End railway station to enable paramedics to tend to the casualty.
A police spokeswoman said: "We were called by the ambulance service at 8.35am with reports a Hyundai i10 and a cyclist were in collision in London Road, Wendens Ambo.
"The road was closed until just before 10.15am while emergency services were on scene. The cyclist was taken to hospital. Enquiries remain ongoing."
Uttlesford's community policing team posted on its Facebook page that the young person was in a "stable" condition, adding that commuters were still able to access the station during the road closure.
