Bishop's Stortford's newest residents get to know each other

Residents of Bishop's Stortford's newest development got to know each other at a 'Meet the Neighbours' event.

The get-together, organised by homebuilder Bellway, took place at the Goodsyard in Station Road, where the first phase of 149 homes at The Exchange is now occupied.

Phase two – Southside Locks – is already under way. It will deliver 174 apartments, comprising 128 for private sale and 46 affordable homes, built across five blocks.

The Goodsyard is part of a wider £200m project, led by property development company Solum, to transform the former railway goods yard with new homes, a care home, a hotel, retail and office space and two multi-storey car parks to create a new gateway for Bishop's Stortford.

Matthew Saw, Bellway North London sales manager, said: "We had a fantastic get-together. It was good for residents to have the time and opportunity for more than just a friendly 'hello' in the lift, but to stop and talk a while and find out more about each other.

"It was also a chance for them to find out about the property management team who will be looking after the grounds and the development generally once we've finished building at Goodsyard.

"Customer care is at the heart of Bellway's approach, so it's important to consider more than just the bricks and mortar of a new development, but the people living there.

"So we were keen to put on an informal event to allow residents to meet. I'd like to say a big thank you to all those who attended and made it such a success."
