In all, 50 students from Years 8 to 13 worked tirelessly to produce their version of the Broadway musical Annie, spending evenings, weekends, lunch and break times mastering their song and dance routines.

A spokeswoman for the Parsonage Lane secondary in Bishop’s Stortford said: “As ever, the cast has become a close-knit family, looking out for each other and performing as a cohesive ensemble.

“Tiered seating and a spectacular set gave the whole production that extra professional edge. The drama and music departments would like to take this opportunity to thank all staff members involved as events such as this really are such a team effort.

“A special thanks goes to Haggis the dog who behaved impeccably throughout the shows.”
