Birchwood High School students focused on their futures following A-level and BTEC results
All Birchwood High School students who were planning on going to university are able to do so, with the vast majority being accepted into their first choices, after getting their A-level and BTEC results on Thursday (August 15).
The Parsonage Lane secondary has also seen a rise in the number of Year 13s who are moving from sixth form into apprenticeships, many of them with businesses in Bishop’s Stortford.
School principal Sam Griffin said: “I am delighted for all of our students who have received their results today. To see so many entering university and apprenticeships is a real testament to their dedication and work ethic whilst they were with use. I would like to extend my congratulations to all of our Year 13 students and wish them every success in their next chapter.
“I would also like to extend my thanks to the staff, who have worked so hard with them over the last two years, and to their parents and carers, who have been so supportive.”
Ian Torrance, head of sixth form, said: “I would like to congratulate the class of 2024 – some very pleasing results across the board. We’re all very proud of the caring and wonderful bunch they’ve become and, I have no doubt, will continue to be in the future.
“Alongside their amazing exam results, they have been instrumental in leading the younger students within the Birchwood community, which they have done a fantastic job of. They should be very proud of all their achievements.”
