Mayor opens Isabel Hospice’s second shop in Bishop’s Stortford

The mayor of Bishop’s Stortford has officially opened Isabel Hospice’s 17th retail outlet and its second shop in Bishop’s Stortford.

Cllr Richard Townsend welcomed customers to the new Always Loved by Isabel Hospice store in South Street. It will focus on sustainable fashion and homeware.

The new shop operates alongside the Bridge Street branch, which opened more than 30 years ago.

Charlotte Greenwood, the charity’s head of retail and marketing, said: “We are thrilled to have opened the doors to our new shop and welcome the Bishop’s Stortford community.

“We are confident the stylish refit really raises the bar for the charity shopping experience and look forward to welcoming customers old and new.”

Isabel Hospice needs to raise £7 million each year to provide services to the community. Only a quarter of funding is provided by the NHS, which is why charity shops are so important to generate funds. Last year, the Bridge Street branch helped fund 1,061 hours of compassionate care.

To keep shops fully stocked, Isabel Hospice needs donations. These can be dropped off directly at both Stortford branches. They are open Mondays to Saturdays, 9am to 5pm. The new South Street shop is also open on Sundays, 10am to 4pm.
