Bishop's Stortford Library targeted by burglar

A burglar raided Bishop’s Stortford Library over the weekend and stole around £270.

A cleaner discovered the break-in at 7.15am on Monday (Nov 30). The community hub in the Causeway had been vacant since 4.30pm on Saturday (Nov 28).

The intruder hurled a brick through a glass panel in the front door before climbing through the hole. They then prised open three self-service kiosks, each of which contained around £90.

Anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious at the library over the weekend should contact PCSO Mark Rippon by calling 101 and quoting the crime reference number 41/96279/20.
