Bluebell walks to raise money for Farnham church

Fundraisers for Farnham's parish church are holding two guided bluebell walks in April.

The annual event has been cancelled for the past two years because of the Covid-19 pandemic, but the congregation of St Mary's is eager to raise money on Saturday April 30 to finance work on a new toilet and servery.

The route takes walkers through private woods not usually accessible to see the iconic blooms.

There are two separate strolls on offer: a 4- to 5-mile route starting from St Mary's at 11am or a shorter one-mile route starting at Hazel End Farm at noon.

Both will be followed by an optional barbecue at the church from 1pm. Dogs are welcome on leads and there is free parking at the church and Hazel End Farm.

Entry to the walks is £4 for adults, £3 for under-14s and no charge for babies in buggies. The barbecue costs £4 and includes a hot dog plus unlimited tea, coffee or squash. For further information call Graham or Maureen Lowden on 01279 771313.
