Boy 'in street drug deal' in Cricketfield Lane, Bishop's Stortford, threatens passer-by with club with embedded nail
Police are investigating after a hooded teenage boy suspected of taking part in a drug deal in the street in Bishop's Stortford threatened a man with a bludgeon.
The incident happened in Cricketfield Lane last Tuesday evening (Sept 15) at around 5.45pm as the man was walking along the road.
He was confronted by the youth, thought to be 15 or 16, who had his face covered with a scarf, was dressed all in black and carried a black backpack.
The boy pulled out the weapon, a club with a rusty nail hammered into the tip. The man grabbed it off him and his would-be attacker fled. The intended victim called police.
He told officers that he believed the boy had been involved in a drug deal and may have picked up narcotics from a grey Audi.
