Burst water main in Sheering Lower Road erupts like a geyser

Drivers on Sheering Lower Road got a free car wash when a water main burst, sending a plume 9 metres (30ft) into the air.

The deluge on the route at Lower Sheering, between Sawbridgeworth and Harlow, began at around 9.30am on Thursday (February 13) and was likened to a geyser erupting until around noon.

Affinity Water told the Indie: “We were made aware of a mains burst and our site technician responded promptly.

“Thankfully, no customers were affected and the repair has now been successfully completed. We appreciate your patience and understanding.”
