Stansted's young snappers asked to capture village life for photographic competition
Young photographers from Stansted can enter a competition to have their picture on the front cover of the village magazine.
The challenge, the theme of which is "I Love Stansted Mountfitchet", is being run by the village's Anglia in Bloom Action Group as part of its entry this year.
Said a spokesperson: "This is a great opportunity for young people to showcase their photographic skills. The overall winner will feature on the front cover of The Link, on the parish council website and on social media platforms."
Described as a "very open-ended" theme, photos could feature a village landscape, characters who live or work in Stansted or some aspect of nature and the environment. The only stipulation is that they fall within the parish boundary and must be in portrait (upright) format to fit The Link's front page.
There are two age groups: 12-18 and 11 and under. Entries need to be submitted as jpg files and emailed as an attachment to stanstedinbloom@gmail.com with the entrant's name, age and a contact number. Only one entry per person is allowed.
The closing date is Saturday May 20. The winning entry will be announced at the start of June.
