Birchwood High School raises £3,600 for ARC (Animal Rescue Charity) in Bishop’s Stortford

Birchwood High School students raised £3,600 this year for ARC (Animal Rescue Charity) in Bishop’s Stortford.

At the end of term, the Farnham Road sanctuary was presented with a cheque by house captains at the Parsonage Lane secondary.

The charity rehomed over 250 animals last year and has helped more than 10,000 since it was founded in 1991 by mother and daughter Jan and Fiona Rose.

The Birchwood donation will help cover vet bills for the 53 cats, including 22 kittens, and 16 dogs currently in ARC’s care.

It will also go toward vital supplies like kitten food and litter. The centre uses up to 48 pouches of food a day.
