24/7 electric vehicle charging points which use solar-powered green energy at Stortford Interiors in Bishop’s Stortford

The community can now benefit from two 24/7 electric vehicle charging points which use solar-powered green energy thanks to a Bishop’s Stortford company.

Stortford Interiors has installed the charging points at its premises at the Twyford Business Centre in London Road.

Members of the public and tradespeople – there is enough space for commercial vans to use the points – can make use of the up-to-60kw fast charger at any time of the day, seven days a week.

The chargers are powered by solar energy via solar panels installed on the roof of the interior architectural package contractor’s mock-up hub. The power not coming from the grid is a vital part of net zero plans.

The cost of charging (69p per kwh) is lower than at petrol stations and the rate of charge means it is speedy whilst still being good for your vehicle’s battery health.

There is no need to book a slot. Just turn up and you can either tap a credit or debit card to start charging or download the Fuuse app and charge.

Installing the charging points is part of Stortford Interiors’ carbon neutrality initiatives.

The firm has a robust ‘Going Green’ road map where it sets out and implements measures to improve its overall sustainability. It has a stringent Carbon Reduction plan developed in conjunction with leading sustainability experts and takes its commitments seriously.

Late last year the company announced it had achieved carbon neutrality for the period January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022 in alignment with PAS 2060 carbon assessment requirements.

Stortford Interiors offers a comprehensive range of interior fit-out and refurbishment solutions and has worked with a range of big-name clients such as McLaren, Sir Robert McAlpine, Kier and Balfour Beatty.
