During her tenure, the hospice has been upgraded from 'good' to 'outstanding' by the Care Quality Commission.

The award also recognises her ability to lead a clinical team responsively through the Covid-19 pandemic.

Carolanne said: "Being short-listed for this amazing professional award is a great privilege and is testament to the hard work from everyone across all my teams who deliver the hospice's outstanding patient services. I'm very honoured to have been nominated and short-listed and am looking forward to the next stage of the award process.

"The last 18 months have been a challenging time, but throughout I've witnessed first-hand the tenacity and responsiveness that is being recognised with this award and I'm honoured to be representing my teams' success with this national recognition of all our efforts."
