LEARN MOREAnimal magic came to Manor Fields' summer fayre with a host of attractions including a petting zoo.
The proceeds are still being counted, but organisers expect an "impressive four-figure sum" for the Bishop's Stortford primary school's funds.
As well as traditional stalls and sideshows, the fun included inflatables, face painting, cheerleaders, archery and football challenges courtesy of Kitteridge Multi Sports Club and Thorley Manor Football Club. Visitors also enjoyed Mexican food, a Pimm's bar and a barbecue.
Ina White, a spokeswoman for the Manor Fields School Association, said: "The fayre was a great success. It was a celebration of the Manor Fields community getting together to create an amazing experience for the children and their families. This would not happen without our fantastic volunteers.
"Our heartfelt thanks go to an army of the school families, local residents and the amazing teachers for volunteering in the run-up and on the day of the event. Also the Harvest Moon and their manager Laura, who not only donated items for the bar but also provided volunteer staff to run it for us on the day.
"Special thanks go to the Bishop's Stortford fire brigade for letting children explore their fire engine and dedicating their time to the fayre."
