Clavering celebrates Platinum Jubilee with scarecrows and sword craft

LEARN MOREClavering residents crowned their Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations with a special evensong at the parish church of St Mary and St Clement, led by vicar the Rev Margaret Davis.
The act of worship followed a full programme for villagers, co-ordinated by an organising committee led by Donna Duckworth.
Residents explored Clavering's past with archaeology sessions, an archaeology roadshow and a history exhibition.
Peter Cooper led a jubilee walk on Friday, and on Saturday the Jubilee Field was transformed into a medieval pageant with fencing and craft displays by Shire of Flintheath.
Other highlights included a 'Big Lunch' community feast, children's competitions, a royalty-themed scarecrow trail, open gardens and a special production by Clavering Players.
A beacon event was hosted by neighbouring Langley on Thursday (June 2).
