Ukrainian community in Bishop’s Stortford enjoy ‘comfort and joy’ at Christmas and New Year party

The Ukrainian community in Bishop’s Stortford found “comfort and joy in coming together” for a joint Christmas and New Year party.

Families were invited to an event at the Oasis Lounge in Bishop’s Stortford Methodist Church in South Street on Monday December 30.

Yuliia Yurdakavushan said: “This Christmas and New Year, the Ukrainian community in Bishop’s Stortford found comfort and joy in coming together, even while far from home. It is our third Christmas in England.

“With huge gratitude, we thank the volunteer team who have selflessly supported us during these years.

“Their dedication and care made it possible to celebrate with warmth and unity, culminating in a wonderful New Year party.”

Yuliia added: “Our evening was filled with laughter, shared stories, games, traditional Christmas carols and tasty Ukrainian dishes. We were very happy to meet and celebrate the New Year together!”
