Councillor's gift makes life easier for sick children and parents at Princess Alexandra Hospital
A £3,875 donation will make it easier for parents of sick children to stay with them at Princess Alexandra Hospital.
The gift to Dolphin Ward from Harlow Council's former chairwoman, Cllr Maggie Hulcoop, has helped to pay for special chairs which convert to beds.
Ward manager Helen Weaving said: "We are really grateful for this wonderful donation from Councillor Hulcoop, who was so supportive of our ward during her year in office.
"We treat children from newborn to age 16, and this makes all the difference to parents at an anxious time. Thank you to everyone who brought this about."
Cllr Hulcoop said: "It's important for the sick children that they have the support of their parents and hopefully this will enable the parent to get some sleep.
"I would just like to add that I admire all the staff on the ward for all their dedication and professionalism."
