Couple jailed for stealing perfume, aftershave and cosmetics worth more than £3,000 from World Duty Free at Stansted Airport





A couple have been jailed for stealing perfume, aftershave and cosmetics worth more than £3,000 from Stansted Airport.

The theft happened at World Duty Free last Tuesday (March 27).

Essex Police was alerted after a member of staff saw a man and a woman acting suspiciously.

The woman, 37-year-old Donrina-Irina Filip Catana, of no fixed address, was found in airside toilets with the stolen items.

The man, 43-year-old Marian Filip, of Stanway Gardens, Edgware, north London, was found a short time later about to board a flight.

They were charged with theft and appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court the next day (Wednesday March 27), where they admitted the offences. They were sentenced to eight weeks in prison.
