Driver arrested for multiple offences, including causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop, after Bishop's Stortford woman in early 20s dies after Mini crash in Epping

A 32-year-old man was arrested on multiple motoring and drug offences – including causing death by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit – after a young woman from Bishop's Stortford died following a car crash.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information about the collision, which happened in Epping late on Saturday night (Feb 19).

Police were called at around 10.30pm to reports of a collision in Houblons Hill involving a red Mini. Paramedics and fire and rescue crews also attended.

Essex Police said that the woman, in her early 20s, who was a passenger in the car, died on Sunday (February 20).

Following the collision, the road was closed throughout the night while officers carried out investigation work. It reopened just after 6.30am on Sunday.

A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop after a collision, failing to report it, driving whilst unfit, possession of cannabis and perverting the course of justice. He has been released on bail until March 20.

A police spokesperon said: "We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the vehicle prior to the collision."
