Once again, the Bishop’s Stortford Business Improvement District is sponsoring the customer service excellence award at this year’s Indie Community Awards in November.

As in 2019, the organisation which represents town traders is recognising the high street names setting the standard and the monthly award for March goes to Russell Property in North Street.

BID manager Gina Thomas said the estate agent won for its commercial success - selling the most homes over £500,000 and £1m in 2019 and for its community support of schools and sports clubs.

Founded in 1997, the business now has 16 staff at two branches including a new satellite office in Stansted Mountfitchet.

A spokesman said: “We were affiliated with many clubs, schools and charities last year, including Bishop’s Stortford Rugby Football Club, Bishop’s Stortford Cricket Club, Bishop’s Stortford Golf Club, Northgate primary, St Mary’s Catholic School, Manuden primary, Macmillan Cancer Support, the Movember Foundation and Save the children to name but a few.

“Our community support association is exceedingly important to us and we shall continue through 2020 in this vein.”
