Elsenham CofE summer fete pictures: Fun and games for all the family as annual fete raises more than £4K for school
Dancing displays, face painting, fun games and a visit from a fire engine, police car and tractor made Elsenham CofE Primary’s summer fete an event to remember.
Organised by the Friends of Elsenham School PTA (FOES), Saturday’s extravaganza drew in the crowds and raised a healthy £4,145.
FOES chair Louise Judd said it was “a really successful day” and village dance troupe, Rascals, stole the show with their impressive dance moves. “They are a local performing arts company so we thought it would be really lovely to get the whole community involved and get the students performing in front of a crowd.
“The majority of students go to Elsenham Primary School. They performed with lots of energy and the parents were really impressed with their confidence.”
Stansted fire crew invited children to clamber aboard their truck and play around with the hoses while Essex police brought hats and jackets for children to try on. “Nick Herbert, a local farmer, brought a huge tractor along which the kids really loved!” added Louise.
Inside the school hosted fete games while the impressive raffle and tombola stalls were a huge success.
“We had a rainbow raffle where each class donated coloured items and we bundled them up to make this lovely big rainbow raffle hamper,” said Louise.
“It was a successful turnout despite not being outside with bouncy castles and we raised money towards books for the library and additional iPads for children to use in class.”
