Hallowe’en deadline for re-registration for Stansted Airport’s local residents parking discount scheme
Residents have until Thursday (Oct 31) to fill in a re-registration form for Stansted Airport’s parking discount scheme.
The scheme enables people living within five or 10 miles of the airport to apply for a card which entitles them to reduced charges for “kiss and fly” parking.
Those living within five miles pay 50p while those within 10 miles pay £1. The fee for all other drivers is £7 – the most expensive in the UK.
The airport has asked residents to re-register for the cards – providing the registration numbers of a maximum of two vehicles – to “ensure the information we have recorded is accurate and up-to-date”. See here to fill in the re-registration form.
A spokesperson for the airport refuted suggestions there were issues with the payment machines at the Express Set Down at the weekend after motorists reported long queues and payment cards not working.
The spokesperson said the airport was “extremely busy” over the start of the half-term holiday, when one million passengers are expected to fly in and out, adding: “Over the weekend a couple of barriers were out of service and awaiting an engineer, but they are now operational again.”
