Duo to appear at St Albans Crown Court after Range Rover Sport stolen in Sawbridgeworth is traced to Stortford
Two 22-year-old men from Lithuania were arrested following the theft of a Range Rover Sport in Sawbridgeworth.
The vehicle was stolen in the early hours of Monday (Sept 28). The victim had parked it on their driveway in Church Walk, off Forebury Avenue. At 1am, their private CCTV camera filmed a thief break into the car and drive away.
Police were called and used the vehicle’s tracking device to trace it to Mercers Avenue in St Michael’s Mead, Bishop’s Stortford.
Officers went to retrieve the car and found two men acting suspiciously nearby. They were arrested on suspicion of car theft. One of them was also arrested on suspicion of driving whilst disqualified.
* Karolis Grinius and Eitvydas Laucys, both of Corby in Northamptonshire, have been charged with conspiracy to steal a motor vehicle and remanded in custody to appear at St Albans Crown Court on November 2.
