East Herts Council offers guidance to candidates in May's local government elections
Briefing sessions are being held by East Herts Council to help candidates and their election agents before the local government votes on May 2.
They are on Tuesday, March 5, at 1pm and Wednesday, March 13 at 5.30pm at the authority's Hertford office, Wallfields, Pegs Lane, SG13 8EQ.
The session will last no longer than two hours and is recommended for both candidates and election agents to hear about the nomination process and how the elections will be run. There are votes for each of the district council's 50 seats and Bishop's Stortford Town Council.
The briefing will run through the nomination process – how to complete papers, the do’s and don’ts of the campaign, legal duties, how postal vote opening will be managed and the count arrangements. It will also offer useful tips and guidance.
There will be limited spaces in the visitors’ car park on March 5. The nearest public car park is Gascoyne Way multi-storey. For details visit www.eastherts.gov.uk/parking On March 13, the on-site staff car park will be available.
