Elderly woman has handbag stolen from Waterstones in Bishop’s Stortford

An elderly woman had her handbag stolen from Waterstones in Bishop’s Stortford.

Hertfordshire police are investigating the incident, which happened at the South Street bookshop on Friday (Nov 15) between 3pm and 3.15pm.

A spokeswoman said: “The handbag was inside a carrier bag which had been placed in a basket and on the floor as the lady stood at the cash desk.”
