Summer arrived early at Stansted Airport with a mini-music festival in the departures lounge on Saturday afternoon (March 2).

The internationally-recognised TV personality, YouTuber and DJ, Jack Maynard, opened up music showcase and delivered a live set for holidaymakers.

He was followed by leading London grime MC and Boy Better Know member Jammer, who performed some of his most popular tracks to an energetic crowd.

The artists were also joined on the day by The Magic Gang who performed a selection of their breezy guitar-pop hits and put Stansted travellers in the festival sing-along spirit.

Essex’s Eliza and The Bear, who played at the Horn at the Half Moon in Bishop’s Stortford and are now one of the UK’s most promising young bands, brought the curtain down at Departures Live singing their popular hits It Gets Cold and Friends to delighted travellers.

Lois Robertson, brand and marketing manager at Stansted Airport, said: “It was incredibly exciting to see some of the UK’s best urban and rock artists such as Jammer and The Magic Gang perform at London Stansted this weekend. The Departures Live event aimed to celebrate some of the finest local musical talent out there and we’re delighted that many of our travellers got a first glimpse at some of their favourite acts ahead of their various appearances during this summer’s European Festival season.”
