Cian Chantrill: Family calls for ‘sky blue’ farewell to 20-year-old Coventry City fan and music student found dead at university in Manchester
Mourners at the funeral next week of young Bishop’s Stortford musician Cian Chantrill have been asked to wear “a touch of sky blue”.
Like his father Grant, the 20-year-old was a passionate Coventry City football fan. His dad and mum Sharon gave their son the middle name Sky as the club’s nickname is the Sky Blues.
As he worked towards his ambition of becoming a music producer, Cian chose the recording name ProdBy5ky.
The former pupil of Hunsdon primary and Chauncy secondary in Ware was a familiar face helping out at his dad’s business, Roman Grant Barbers in Havers Lane, before he started a degree in electronic music production at Manchester’s BIMM Music Institute.
Just weeks into his first term, the popular barman at the Castle and Bridge House pubs died suddenly and was found in a bathroom at his halls of residence on Saturday October 28.
He was a member of Bishop’s Stortford Musical Theatre Company’s youth group for 10 years, played football for Bishop’s Stortford Swifts and, latterly, was a star darts player for the Castle’s team.
After his funeral service at Parndon Wood, Harlow, next Thursday (November 23) at 2.30pm, a wake will be held at The Crown in Hunsdon, the village where Cian grew up.
