A £100 gift card to be spent in Bishop's Stortford's high street is up for grabs from the town's BID (Business Improvement District).

To be in with a chance of winning, shoppers need to answer just five festive questions in an online quiz.

BID manager Gina Thomas said: "We launched the Discover Stortford Gift Card to help people to discover the fantastic businesses in Bishop's Stortford, keeping money locked into the town and making local shopping easy.

"The 'What's Your Perfect Gift' comes at the perfect time to remind us that no matter what you like to do, whether eating out, shopping or wellbeing, the Discover Stortford Gift Card blends lots of different activities and interests into one local gift card.

"Present buying can be difficult, particularly when you don't know what someone wants or needs, with research suggesting that 20% of Christmas gifts end up in landfill. This year, let's think local with our Christmas gifts, helping friends and family to Discover Stortford and see what's on offer here in our town."

The Bishop's Stortford Gift Card, launched in summer 2021, can be spent with multiple businesses in the town, including national brands like ProCook, The Entertainer and Clarks, and independent businesses such as Atkins restaurant, hair salon Unique and jeweller Zelley.

It is part of the award-winning Town & City Gift Card programme from fintech Miconex, available in over 70 cities and towns in the UK and Ireland.

Managing director Colin Munro said: "Instead of single retailer gift cards, customers are increasingly turning to multi-store cards like the Bishop's Stortford Gift Card, representing 42.8% of gift card purchases in November 2021, the highest level since GlobalData began tracking and almost overtaking single retailer gift cards (48.4%)."
