First of four public drop-in sessions in Ugley as consultation on Uttlesford draft Local Plan gets under way

The first of four public events about Uttlesford District Council’s draft Local Plan will get under way on Monday (Sept 2).

The drop-in events will give people the opportunity to ask the council’s planning policy team any questions they have about the plan, which will guide where homes and employment sites will go within the district, along with the infrastructure needed to support it. The team will also be able to assist anyone who would like to submit a representation.

The events are on:

1.Monday 02 September, 5-8pm – Ugley Village Hall

2.Wednesday 04 September, 5-8pm – Foakes Hall, Great Dunmow

3.Monday 09 September, 5-8pm – Saffron Walden Town Hall

4.Tuesday 10 September, 5- 8pm – Priors Green Community Hall, Takeley

The local plan consultation runs until 5pm on Thursday October 3. People are invited to give their views on its legal compliance and what is referred to as the ‘soundness’ of the plan – this relates to whether it meets the requirements set out in national policy, guidance and legislation.

The quickest and easiest way to read the draft plan and to provide feedback is via the council’s website www.uttlesford.gov.uk/new-local-plan.
