By Paul Winspear

Five vehicles were involved in a collision which left a rat-run between Harlow and Bishop's Stortford blocked for more than two hours during the afternoon rush hour.

Police were called shortly after 4pm on Thursday (May 23) to reports of a crash on Eastwick Road, near the Plume of Feathers pub and the junction with Redricks Lane, at Pye Corner, Gilston.

Four of the five vehicles involved required recovery.

A spokeswoman for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: "No one was injured during the incident."

The road was clear by 6.15pm.
