The Harvest Moon pub in Bishop's Stortford has toasted completion of its refurbishment as it reopened for business with the creation of four new jobs.

As part of the six-figure investment, the Greene King hostelry on Friedberg Avenue, Thorley Park, closed for nine days to undergo a major transformation throughout, including the introduction of a lighter colour scheme which incorporates tiled walls, signature pieces of furniture and contemporary flooring.

The bar has been completely refurbished to provide a selection of local and national ales, plus world beers. Customers can also enjoy a revamped beer garden, which now includes new lighting and extensive seating.

The new jobs include three bar/waiting staff and a kitchen assistant with a new trainee assistant manager position likely to be advertised soon.

General manager Laura Blasé said: “The Harvest Moon is at the heart of the Bishop’s Stortford community so we're excited to be able to offer a place where locals can enjoy a drink or meal in enhanced surroundings.

“The opening was a real success, with great feedback from guests on the delicious menu and fantastic interior. We look forward to welcoming more guests in the coming weeks.”

Visitors can enjoy two meals for £11.99 all day Mondays to Saturdays, including pub grub favourites such as beef and ale pie, lasagne and hunter’s chicken. An all-day roast served with roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, cauliflower cheese, stuffing, Yorkshire pudding and gravy is available on Sundays.
