St Clare Hospice urgently needs donated furniture to sell in its charity shops
Your old sofa, dining table, wardrobe or chest of drawers could be just what St Clare Hospice is looking for as it appeals for urgent furniture donations.
The Hastingwood-based charity, which supports people with life-limiting illnesses and their families across West Essex and East Hertfordshire, has experienced a significant drop in contributions over the summer.
The slowdown has left stock levels low. It is especially keen to receive light or neutral-toned furniture in good condition, from wardrobes and chest of drawers to dining room sets.
It is not currently accepting beds, dark brown furniture or TV cabinets.
“We urgently need furniture donations for our shops and are asking our local community to help,” said St Clare’s head of trading, Rose Sheppard. “If you’re having a clear-out or upgrading your furniture, please think of us.
“Every item helps to contribute to the hundreds of thousands of pounds St Clare Hospice’s shops need to raise each year. If you’ve got something to give, we would be so grateful.”
To make donating as easy as possible, St Clare offers a completely free furniture collection service. The hospice’s dedicated van team travels across the region- from Saffron Walden, Thaxted and Dunmow to Bishop’s Stortford, Epping, Loughton and Buckhurst Hill - collecting items directly from people’s homes.
Booking a collection is simple and can be done online in just a few clicks. Find out more and book a free collection at https://stclarehospice.org.uk/furniture-collection.
